There is no doubt that art is a form of creativity, form of expression, a way to break barriers such as with language. Art acts as the steppingstone for bringing those closer to us to create peace and love. The artist that was appraised was Mahsa Soroudi. This was an interview between my professor Glen in New Port Beach, he uploaded the interview onto youtube. The interview illustrated background on Soroudi, she had illustrated she was born in a town called Tehran in Iran which is actually the capital of Iran. Soroudi had mentioned that her family are the ones who introduced her to art and eventually fell in love with it. Soroudi also stated that her father is an artist and has his own artist academy which is awesome. When she used to live in Iran, as a child her family would take trips to asian communities to be exposed to new cultures to help broaden their imaginations. Also with schooling, she had mentioned she had met a friend who was from Michigan, and both were in undergrad together and had many similar interest in art.
It is clear that her work is depicting a message. An emblematic message of pursuance, to continue with whatever you choose to believe in or feel confident in doing. The form of each art piece is relatively equivalent, a majority of the art is based off of her reality growing up in Iran. The art depicts dark shadow colors for the background but also depict bright vibrant colors that make the main center piece pop out to the viewer. If you pay close attention, each painting appears to tell a story, a-key takeaway I took from viewing the paintings is that I feel sadness being depicted from the faces painted on the canvas.
The paintings are about emotion, it is illustrating the importance of feeling, it illustrates that anyone can have emotion and that it is okay to show those around you that you have sentiment.
For the reasons above, the Artist Mahsa Soroudi has illustrated that no matter what circumstance you may be in, always strive to be the best version of yourself. Along with the hardship you may have encountered, use that as fuel and energy to strive to do great things and to live a memorable life.
